Jailed: Samuel Lambe

Samuel Lambe, aged 26, of Garraways, Coffee Hall, pleaded guilty at Amersham Crown Court.

The conspiracy took place between 27 February 2015 and 1 May 2015 and includes seven different robbery offences.

Lambe would book taxis late at night and when the taxi arrived, a gang of men including Lambe would threaten the taxi driver, sometimes armed with a gun and knives.

Lambe was arrested on April 30, 2015 and charged on May 21, 2016.

“This case was a lengthy investigation spanning over several months,” said Det Con Vince Higgins.

“By using complex forensic techniques and voice comparison work we were able to charge the person who we believe organised and formulated the offences.

“Once Lambe was arrested the series of robberies ceased. We are extremely happy that we have been able to gain a prosecution in this case and were able to stop further attacks on other taxi drivers.

“The offenders in this case got away with only a few hundred pounds in the combined cases but they caused a huge amount of stress and emotional turmoil to the victims. Many of them were unable to work for several days as a result of being attacked by the gang.

“With the help of the taxi companies involved, the victims and members of the public we were able to locate an address where arrests were made and evidence was then recovered.

“Through interviews and forensic evidence we were able to link Lambe to the offences and prove that he made the calls to the taxi companies to arrange for the offences to take place.

“We always strive to do our utmost in serious cases such as this and are glad that we can help to make Milton Keynes a safer place to live and work.”
