Mark Lewis, Head of Hospitality at Bedford College is one of the few that has.

When’s he’s not running a winning department, Mark, aged 50 of Milton Keynes, is running around the world.

He has completed the Abbot World Marathon Majors in London, Boston, Tokyo, Berlin, Chicago and New York City and raised a whopping £20,000 in the process.

“After my first ever marathon I swore I would never do another, now I have completed 16, including the big six for which I have my medal and certificate,” Mark said,

Running is a great way to reduce the pressures of work and burn off the calories which come from being tempted by our students’ award-winning cakes and other dishes,” he added.

Bedford College’s hospitality training covers full-time real work style training for 16 years olds, part-time and evening courses for keen cooks and those wanting to progress to degree-level learning in hotel and business management.
