The event is being hosted on May 6, 2019 and they’re inviting local residents to apply to join the Rightmove’s ‘On the Move’ running team and help raise money for local MK charity, The Winter Night Shelter.

The aim is to raise more than £25,000 to support the shelter’s Unity Park Station project, which aims to prevent homelessness all year round.

Milton Keynes residents can register their interest and the places will be decided by ballot. The Ballot entry opens on October 15 and successful applicants will receive:

· Free entry to the MK Marathon;

· A runner’s pack including a t-shirt, water bottle, and discounts for Up & Running stores;

· Free off-site car parking and shuttle bus to/from the marathon;

· Exclusive access to the Race Village and after party, including “Rightmove rest and recovery” tent where free food and drink waiting for you on your return.

Sara Millington, communications manager of the Winter Night Shelter MK said: “The Winter Night Shelter is an MK charity whose aim is to relieve poverty, distress and homelessness. Since it started in 2011, the Winter Night Shelter has hosted over 400 guests and helped more than 185 people into longer term accommodation. Its project ‘Unity Park Station’ will, for the first time in Milton Keynes, mean there is a single place to go all year round for those already facing, or worrying about homelessness.”

As a member of Rightmove’s On the Move team you will be asked to raise £500 which will go directly to the Unity Park Station project. In return, Rightmove will lay on a benefits package, from free entry to the race, goody packs, discounts for sports equipment, training support groups and exclusive talks.

But that’s not all, On the Move runners will get access to a VIP party at the Race Village Festival, including the three things every runner wishes for at the finish line…. A shower, some food, and a cold drink to relieve the thirst.

Jason Charles, event manager for On the Move, said: “Milton Keynes is the home of Rightmove so we’re really excited about taking part in one of the key sporting events in our local community for the second year. We’re equally excited about supporting the Winter Night Shelter in their efforts to prevent homelessness, and the key work Unity Park Station is doing to achieve that.

“We’re asking the good people of Milton Keynes to rise up and run with our On The Move family, and help raise these much needed funds. If you want to take on the challenge of running a half or full marathon and play your part in helping to prevent homelessness in Milton Keynes, we invite you to join the On The Move family of runners and fundraisers!”
