MP Mark Lancaster has announced he is to marry fellow MP Caroline Dinenage on Valentine’s Day.

The wedding is set to take place at the chapel in the House of Commons.

The news comes six months after Mr Lancaster, MP for MK North, and Caroline announced they were a couple.

Said Mark: “Yes, I can confirm we are to marry. It will be a small, family affair, and we’re very happy and excited.

“I was delighted when Caroline agreed to marry and we’re both very excited as I know our families and friends are too.”

His bride-to-be, 42, a blonde mother-of two, is described as one of David Cameron’s ‘cuties’.

Miss Dineage is the eldest daughter of Fred Dineage, 71, a presenter of the children’s TV show How, back in the 70s.

She became MP for Gosport, Hampshire, in the 2010 election, succeeding Sir Peter Viggers, who stood down after claiming expenses for his duck house.

The couple started dating last April, when Caroline invited Tory whip Mark to join her at a black-tie dinner. She was previously married to Royal Navy officer Carlos Garetta.

Mr Lancaster, 43, is a Lt Colonel in the Territorial Army, and a former director of his family fireworks company based in Kimbolton, Beds.

Like his wife-to-be, Mr Lancaster has been married before. He parted from his ex-wife Katherine in 2007 and then dated journalist Amanda Evans, with whom he has a daughter, Lily-Mae.
