Multiple Sclerosis specialists from Milton Keynes have been named the winners of an award that recognises those who go the extra mile.

Lesley Catterall and Denise Middleton, who work for Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) in Milton Keynes, won the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Trust’s ‘My MS Super Team’ awards 2014, which recognises the work of specialist MS teams and are voted for by people living with MS.

Lesley and Denise were delighted with the recognition and said: “That’s amazing; we’re overwhelmed.

“We both love supporting patients with MS and feel very lucky to have such a rewarding and fulfilling job.

“We would like to thank all the patients that nominated us and the MS Trust. We work well together and have a lot of fun.”

One person who nominated them said: “They are the greatest. So helpful, caring, kind, considerate and uplifting. They make you feel good about yourself, always at the end of the phone ready to help and give advice. They are both super stars!”

The winners were announced during MS Awareness Week 2014 which took place from April 28 until May 4.

Claire Murdoch, CNWL Chief Executive, said “This is a fabulous accolade to the good work Lesley and Denise do.

“It’s impressive to hear that so many patients received great quality care from the team and have been so moved that they have made a nomination. Well done!”
