Milton Keynes mum record '˜confession' from daughter's molester

An enraged mum played detective to secretly record a confession from a man who molested her young daughter.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, tracked down the offender and questioned him repeatedly until he admitted he had been “inappropriate”.

Unbeknown to him, she was recording the lengthy conversation on her mobile phone, which she promptly handed to police.

“There was a debate about whether the conversation could be used as evidence, because I didn’t have his permission to record him. But I believe it helped convict this monster,” the mum told the Citizen.

Last week a jury at Aylesbury Crown Court found restaurant owner André Nethersole guilty of three sexual offences against children. He had pleaded not guilty.

The court heard how he incited one young teenager to engage in sexual activity on two occasions. He was also found guilty of causing another girl aged between 13 and 15 to look at an image of sexual activity.

Married dad-of-one Nethersole, who runs the Eagles Jerk Restaurant And Grill in Eaglestone, will be sentenced later this month.

The mum said: “I am relieved he has been convicted and I hope he goes to prison.”

A fan of detective movies, she described how she refused to back down when Nethersole first denied what he had done to her daughter.

“I was furious inside, but I managed to stay calm and keep questioning him and challenging his answers until he finally admitted he’d acted wrongly.”
