Milton Keynes nurseries rated '˜extraordinary' in business awards

Two nurseries in MK are celebrating after being rated '˜extraordinary' and named as a '˜top UK workplace' for the 11th year running.

The Ofsted-rated ‘outstanding’ day nurseries, Woodlands in Milton Keynes and Meadow View in Newport Pagnell, were listed in ‘The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For’ lists.

Elkie Taylor, manager of Meadow View in Westbury Lane, said: “It is a very personal achievement because we are all employee owners and what we say really does make a difference.

“When you are committed to giving young children the very best start in life, a happy supported staff team is vital.”

The nurseries are part of Childbase Partnership - a ‘national champion’ representing the UK in the European Business Awards and Employee Owned Business of the Year.

One of only 160 UK organizations to achieve three-star ‘extraordinary’ accreditation by Best Companies – for the sixth year running - Childbase Partnership achieved top 10 ratings.

Alyson Hefferon, manager of Woodlands Day Nursery in Downs Barn, said: “Ofsted inspectors have told us repeatedly that a happy and engaged staff team equals happy children.

“Our pride in our nursery and our company is reflected in our happy and confident children and there is nothing more rewarding or satisfying than that.”

At Childbase Partnership Headquarters in Newport Pagnell, operations director Emma Rooney, said: “People are the cornerstone of our operation so we are enormously proud of this achievement.

“It is all the more meaningful when you consider the competition from giant retailing and small office-based organizations which have the luxury of creating working environments that are all about employee happiness and well-being.

“Our focus is always on making sure our children have the best possible nursery experience.”
