The children have been enjoying regular visits to the care home where they have been chatting to the residents, singing, playing parachute games, making playdough, enjoying arts and crafts and decorating biscuits.

These visits have been so beneficial to the residents that the nursery are looking to make them a regular fixture. Senior Nursery Manager at Acorn Kents Hill, Elena Martuccio says, “It is lovely to bring together the different generations and watching them bond and enjoy each other’s company is just wonderful, we are already planning our next visit and introducing some new activities”

The nursery and care home collected tins and dried foods to donate to the food bank who will distribute these to families in need. They received a bumper harvest this year thanks to the parents of Acorn and the friends and family of the care home residents.
