The new adjective of ‘cute’ is set to put Milton Keynes on the sweet road to fame.
An enterprising local artist has launched city Cute Maps for residents, souvenir hunters and collectors from all over the country.
The brainchild of illustrator Sheree Willis, the hand-drawn maps show stickmen cycling Dansteed Way, farmers shearing sheep and cartoon fish on Furzton Lake.
Sheree has reproduced all the major buildings as landmarks for the city she describes as “a cosy and contemporary pleasantville.”
She said: I find it a completely unique melting pot of old and new, urban and rural - and it’s just so close to my heart. I love being here!”
Her Cute Maps are available as prints to be framed, tea towels or notecards.
A tea towelscosts £11 and a mounted print £12.
Sheree also uses her “cute” MK designs to create bespoke wedding stationary and personal keepsakes, all under the banner of ‘the wonderful city of Milton Keynes.
Cute Maps is based at Arts Central in CMK.The range can be viewed on www.cutemaps.co.uk/mkshop.
