Milton Keynes People's Assembly to hold public meeting tonight

'˜After the referendum - What next for the movements?' ask the Milton Keynes People's Assembly at a public meeting being held in the city tonight.

Speakers at the event will be Charlie Wilson (MK Momentum/Labour), Jennifer Marklew (MK Green Party), Anita Richards / Stuart O’Neil MK NUT and Kevin Vickers (MK People’s Assembly).

‘After the UK voted to leave the European Union it is vital that we meet and discuss our response both locally and nationally,’ they say.

‘As a movement we continue to face huge challenges that will require unity after very divisive referendum campaigns from both sides: A housing crisis that is worsening; affecting the most vulnerable in society and forcing more people onto the streets. An NHS under continued threat of further privatisation. A greater than ever need to stand up to racism, defend migrants and show solidarity with refugees.

‘Tackling these issues will require the broadest possible coalition of individuals and organisations; working together to build the movements and defeat the Tory party.’

The meeting will be held at YMCA, 1 North 6th Street, at 7pm.
