Mark Lancaster MP joined staff and pupils to celebrate the schools 40th birthday.

The school doors opened on September 1, 1976 and the new pupils were greeted by the first head teacher Miss Walker, who at the time was required to keep a punishment book.

The current head teacher Miss Lovelock was more than happy to share that she does not hold such a record these days.

A number of former pupils have remained in the area and returned to the school either as teachers or have become members of the administration team.

Mark Lancaster, said: “There was a great sense of pride from the staff and pupils about the schools achievements over the past four decades and the references to the family, demonstrated the important part they all play within the community.

“Happy Birthday Great Linford Primary School.”
