The pub, part of Vintage Inns, has recently partnered with the NSPCC to raise funds for the charity which works to protect children in the UK.

To kick-start the association, The Barge will be taking part in Go Green For Halloween and will be welcoming families to join in the fun through to Monday 31st October.

The team is inviting families to bring along their little ones along to enjoy a range of games and activities, and ‘Go Green’ by wearing their best ghoulish green costumes.

Over the course of the week, there will be activities like ghostly story-telling, face painting and Halloween games for little ones to enjoy, in return for a small donation to the NSPCC.

“The NSPCC is a charity which is very close to the hearts of both us and our guests,” said Vintage Inn’s Juliet Oosthuysen. “Go Green For Halloween is a really great way for us to start our fundraising efforts and we hope that people will get into the spirit and join us over half-term for some spooky fun.”

Nigel Spencer, NSPCC Director of Fundraising added: “We really value the support we receive from Vintage Inns and the contribution they are making to our fight for every childhood. This Halloween we encourage you to get down to The Barge with family and friends for some ghostly green fun while at the same time raising money to help us keep children safe.”

In addition to its half-term week of Halloween activities, The Barge will also be donating 25p from every meal ordered from its specials board to the NSPCC throughout October and November.
