Milton Keynes pupils to perform live for BBC Children in Need

The show will see Graham Norton, Tess Daly, Greg James, Ade Adepitan, Rochelle Humes and Marvin Humes host the TV extravaganza and they will be joined by around 1,500 school children from across the UK for a live performance of ‘Lean on Me’ by Bill Withers.

This will be the 6th year that the Children’s Choir has performed, and is highly regarded as one of the stand out moments of the annual appeal show.

Last year, the choir sang Miley Cyrus’s ‘The Climb’ and in previous years they’ve sung Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, as well as The Pretenders power ballad ‘I’ll Stand By You’.

One of the locations for this year’s choir is stadium MK, where nearly 200 children will perform in the choir made up of children from Chestnuts Primary School, Cedars Primary School, Lord Grey School, Charles Warren Academy, Emerson Valley School and Priory Rise School.

All the schools have already started their rehearsals ready for their live performance during the appeal show.

BBC Children in Need currently funds 11 projects across Buckinghamshire with funding of more than £497,000 hard at work across the county.

Supporting the charity this year would help fund even more projects just like Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in Saunderton that receives a grant of more than £66,000.

The choirs will sing in unison from nine different UK locations which will be: stadium MK, Salisbury Arts Centre in Wiltshire, Sefton Park in Liverpool, Bridlington Spa in East Yorkshire, Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, Pacific Quay in Glasgow, the Titanic Museum in Belfast, Swansea University and Elstree Studios in London.

BBC Children in Need will return to screens on November 18 on BBC One.
