The event, part of a rally to mobilise support for opposition attracted a healthy crowd of protestors, and MK Iain Stewart gave his support.

When the votes were cast, the plans were rejected.

“The principle reason it seems most voters expressed for their opposition was the effect it could have on the Asplands Medical Centre in Woburn Sands,” said Nick Luke, campaign leader.

“In the coming months we will be doubling our efforts to get the plan rejected,” he added.
