Milton Keynes schoolchildren are Charity Champions

Milton Keynes Hospital will profit from a fantastic year-long charity drive by Wyvern School.

Pupils at the Wolverton school have been fundraising as part of their Charity Champions project, and have raised more than £4300.

The children boosted funds by hosting fun runs, an autumn bazaar, a tea party, a valentines dicso and various other activities. Two members of staff also ran in the Silverstone half marathon.

“I am really proud of the way everyone in school pulled together to make the events a success, and extremely pleased with the final amount raised,” said teacher Elise Munchaster, who inspired the fundraising drive.

“Pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the events - especially the Champions Fun Runs and the disco which one three year old girl referred to as ‘the best party ever!’”
Staff also praised the efforts of Tesco in Wolverton for giving their support to the charity drive.

The money raised is set to fund improved facilities for cancer patients at Milton Keynes Hospital - including the proposed new cancer centre.
