A new world record could be set next week when children from a Milton Keynes school and nearly 240,000 others cook the same recipe on the same day.

30 Two Mile Ash primary school students will be at Jamie’s Italian in Milton Keynes as part of Food Revolution Day, which aims to raise awareness of healthy food and get young people inspired to cook.

TV chef Jamie Oliver, whose main goal is to tackle obesity and healthy eating for children worldwide, wants to set a new record on Friday, May 16, by getting 2000 children all cooking at the same time.

Sebastian Murray of Jamie’s Italian, said: “On the day Jamie is aiming to set a new world record by getting over 2000 children cooking the same recipe on the same day.

“With an estimate of 240,000 children signed up already worldwide to take part in this epic event it looks like we should smash the world record! Jamie Oliver himself has been tweeting and putting up posts on Instagram every day to raise awareness of this day.”
