Mayor Keith McLean joined Milton Keynes College to say a fond farewell to a group of visiting students from China.
The 12 young people were part of a pilot programme to help Milton Keynes establish itself as a global city.
They stayed with host families, enjoyed cultural trips and took part in an intensive course of English at the college.
MK College commercial director Jane Horridge described the study programme as “brilliant” for students and staff.
“There’s a lot to gain, with some really great insights into Chinese culture,” she said.
