Applicants for the 60 jobs up for grabs at Bounce GB, the UK’s first indoor trampolining park which is set to open in Milton Keynes in May, will receive intensive training from MK College.
Working in conjunction with Job Centre Plus they have put together a two-week course covering customer service, food hygiene and health and safety.
All those who successfully complete the two weeks training will be guaranteed an interview.
“From the start we have concentrated on finding local suppliers and using local companies for the fit out of the premises,” said park manager Graham Baker.
“We think it’s really important to be as connected as possible to the community and that means working locally wherever possible, especially when it comes to recruitment.”
Applications are being taken at Job Centre Plus and then passed to the college’s Business & Leadership Centre at Silbury Campus.
Mr Baker said: “It’s not about what qualifications people have; what we’re looking for is personality, positive attitude and big welcoming smiles.”
Even the health and safety marshalls are expected to be of a sunny disposition. “They will have great attention to detail and be constantly making sure nobody does anything hazardous but in an approachable and friendly way,” said Mr Baker. “What we want is Mr Spock with a personality!”
Director of Business Engagement at Milton Keynes College, Jane Horridge, added: “It’s great to be able to take local people who are looking for employment and give them the skills they need to work at a place like Bounce. Bounce GB will open on Peverel Drive, near Stadium MK, and will have 82 separate trampolines in 21,000 sq ft of floor space.
