According to the El Gazette’s latest Centres of Excellence ranking, published in the newspaper’s March edition, the College has been placed in the top 5 per cent of providers throughout the UK, based on recent reports from the British Council.

As part of the ranking all providers are graded in four categories, again in line with British Council standards, with MK College scoring particularly highly in Resources and Environment, in addition to Management.

The recognition from EL Gazette represents a great achievement for the College and its International Team, who have made great strides in recent months to develop the standard of its provision for overseas learners.

That development can be seen by the growing number of visiting students and parties, with the College welcoming learners from over 60 different nationalities.

In particular, groups from Oman and China have enjoyed excellent experiences staying with local MK residents and studying at the College.

The burgeoning relationship with the Oman Sultanate’s Embassy has proved to be extremely fruitful for the College, with a celebration event held recently to confirm the Milton Keynes institution as a recognised provider to the Gulf state.

Speaking at the recent event to celebrate both the Centre of Excellence ranking and the new agreement with the Omani Embassy, MK College’s Commercial Director, Jane Horridge, was delighted by the international developments. She said: “Everyone connected with the College’s provision of study programmes for international students is thrilled about the recognition.

“For our offering to be acknowledged by both the biggest accreditation body in the industry and a major global partner in this way represents a massive confirmation of all the hard work and dedication that has gone into building these programmes.

“By working with commercial partners and industry bodies we are continuing to develop our study provisions throughout the College to ensure that we offer courses that are current, relevant and provide learners with all the skills required by industry.

“It’s an exciting project to work on and one we are extremely proud of.”
