Milton Keynes was among the Top 10 most prolific Easter weekend shopping hotspots, making the nineth position in the top towns and cities who got busy with the web.

The findings are based on analysis of Royal Mail Tracked parcels accepted from retailers and businesses into the network.

“The Easter bank holiday is a key shopping event both online and on the high street,” said Nick Landon, managing director of Royal Mail Parcels.

The Easter bank holiday is traditionally the time to buy a summer wardrobe, new garden furniture and get to grips with DIY.

Exeter took the top spot on the list, with savvy shoppers also getting busy in Torquay and Aberdeen.

The remaining Top 10 spots were fileld by Dumfries, Inverness, Plymouth, Shrewsbury, Carlisle and Truro.
