MKFM is ready to rock and roll as of tomorrow with new breakfast show host Gaz Wesley.

The radio station will be officially launching on DAB Digital Radio and 107FM after a two year campaign to bring back local radio which has lasted around two years.

Gaz Wesley previously worked on a number of other local radio stations including Chiltern Radio/Heart 97.6 and more recently on BBC 3 Counties Radio and Mix 96.

Gaz said: “I’m so proud to be part of MKFM. I was with them for their launch shows hosting breakfast and I’m ecstatic that they’ll be bringing local radio back to Milton Keynes permanently. Hosting the shows from the MKFM Studio Pod at Xscape is very special as most radio stations don’t give you a chance to see the action, but the Pod really gets you in touch with the listeners.

“I’ve got some great ideas to wake up Milton Keynes, and really looking forward to some really off the wall fun morning radio with my new team and Samantha the Panther.”

The station was set up by former Horizon Radio and Heart 103.3 Programme Controller Chris Gregg and Sales Director Zoe Elie and will feature many former Horizon and Chiltern Radio presenters who’ll be returning to the MK airwaves including Mikey Faulkner, Joe Rudd, James Watts and Matt Cadman.

Chris said: “MKFM is a platform to shout about all the great things that happen in MK and it’s very exciting to be able to bring local radio back permanently”

MKFM will be applying for a community radio license to broadcast to Milton Keynes on FM when this is possible, early next year.
