MK's leading ladies celebrate International Women's Day

MK's leading women will discuss gender equality at an event to celebrate International Women's Day today.

From 5pm, there will be a panel debate on the gender pay gap and entrepreneurship.

There will also be a dance performances by local children at the event, which has been organised by the Women Empowerment Network in association with Milton Keynes Equalities Council.

Conservative group leader Edith Bald said: “I feel really humbled and privileged to have been asked to be part of this event.

“I’ll be on the panel with some really amazing women who are successful in their own right, but importantly they are also doing important things for Milton Keynes to try to make it a better place.”

Other speakers include Julie Mills, MK College principal, businesswoman Jan Flawn CBE, the Citizen’s Amanda Devlin and Pam Gosal Head of Corporate Economic Development & Inward Investment at Milton Keynes Council.
