The Macmillan Mobile Cancer Support ‘Infozone’ is coming to Milton Keynes.

A team of information and support specialists will be on board to offer free, confidential advice and support to anyone with a cancer related question.

Macmillan’s research has shown that the financial impact of a diagnosis can be as much as £570 a month, and carers, friends and relatives of people living with cancer also need emotional support.

Mary Brown, a Macmillan Information and Support Specialist on the unit, said: “At a time of year when many people are thinking about being with their family or getting a special gift for a loved one, people affected by cancer may be struggling to cope with the financial and emotional impact that a diagnosis has.

“We can provide information on what benefits or grants you might be entitled to, such as a grant for help with your heating bills from Macmillan.

“We can also talk about volunteer schemes and support groups that can help, as well as signs and symptoms”

The cancer charity’s five mobile information units last year they helped an average of 80 people a day in over 500 locations.

> The mobile unit will be stopping off at Midsummer Place Shopping Centre from Monday, December 2 – December 5.
