Railway model enthusiasts from across the country visited Stantonbury Leisure Centre where there were 30 traders showcasing their exhibits.

The society even organised for a vintage Routemaster bus from London to ferry visitors between Milton Keynes Central train station and the exhibition - with Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Keith McLean choosing to travel on the service.

Organisers have admitted the event proved to be so popular that there were issues with crowding during the day.

MKMRS Exhibition Manager, Terry Silver said: “We were delighted to see so much interest from families and children this year, especially as we worked hard to present some top quality exhibits.

“We are aware of issues with crowding at certain times of the day and would like to apologise to anyone who was affected by this.

“I can assure visitors that we already have some great ideas about how to make next year’s show even better.”
