Willen Hospice’s fourth MK Midnight Moo took place on Saturday with over 1500 ladies entering into the moovellous atmosphere.

The event raises funds for Willen Hospice who provide specialist care to adults and support for their families in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

This year’s herd have pledged to raise a moomentus £120,000 with the final donations still to be counted.

Fun was had by all with fabulous Moo inspired face painting, a heart pounding warm up routine with David Lloyd Leisure and the great team from ISIS Chiropractors provided relaxing hoof massages. Gill Butcher and her team of ladies from Rosemary Conley really got the party started with an entertaining dance routine.

The MK Midnight Moo has the ability to gain herd members from across the globe with one lady, Gay Hickman-Barr, coming all the way from Canada to join in. Gay was inspired by her friends tale of last years Moo experience and from watching the mootivational stories on the MK Midnight Moo video.

Florence Moo, the MK Midnight Moo mascot, asked her herd what what was their mootivation for walking this year:

One woman said: “My husband died on 13th April this year, the Willen Hospice at Home team were absolutely amazing, whatever I do will never be enough to show my gratitude.”

“My younger sister sadly passed away at Willen last year. She spent some time there in between and the staff looked after her so well they were wonderful. I did the walk last year shortly after Michelle died and am doing it again this year.”

“I am relatively new to the area and my new pals are doing it. And from what I have heard about Willen Hospice, I can think of no better cause.”

Paul Hinson, Chief Executive of Willen Hospice, said “This is the fourth year for the MK Midnight Moo. I’ve heard that one lady this evening even asked for her registration as her birthday present!

“Thanks must be extended to not only all the ladies taking part, but also to all our support partners and volunteers without whom the evening would not be possible. Our volunteers have been marshalling, manning the registration desks and selling our ‘Moo’chandise. They are instrumental every year in supporting the ladies on the walk.

“This fantastic event has raised over £500,000 in its four year history, providing much needed funds to ensure Willen Hospice continues to provide free care to the local community of Milton Keynes”.

The next MK Midnight Moo will take place on Saturday 13th July 2013 and registrations are now being taken
