The Council’s road safety officer will be on hand to talk to people about what training is available, what safety equipment and clothing they are legally required to have and how to stay safe if they want to use a powered two-wheeler.

Local motorcycle clubs, training schools and local bike shops will also be attending the free event, which will be a great source of information, help and advice if you are already a motorbike or moped owner or are considering buying one.

There will also be all types of bike showcased including scooters, 50cc mopeds, sports bikes and vintage motorcycles on display.

“Events like these are a great way to find out everything you need to know about motorbikes for all levels and abilities and to meet like-minded individuals and have some fun!” said Cllr Liz Gifford, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Road Safety.

“On a serious note, unfortunately there are a number of road traffic incidents every year that sometimes involve motorcyclists so getting some extra help, training or advice is a great way to keep all road users safe.”

Nigel Spencer, the Council’s Road Safety Officer added: “There will be a range of organisations, training schools and motorcycle clubs at the event who are passionate about motorcycling. If you are interested in motorbikes this is a great chance to provide you with everything you need to know about getting your license.”

The event runs from 10:30am until 4pm.
