Motorcyclist dies after crash on M40 in Bucks

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision.

At around 5.40pm on Wednesday March 10 a Suzuki GSXR1000 motorbike collided with a blue Volvo XC40 on the northbound carriageway of the M40 at Junction 1a.

Sadly a man in his forties from Banbury, the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the car a man in his fifties was uninjured.

Investigating officer PC Kate Bishop of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Sadly a man has died following this collision and our thoughts remain with his family.

“We are investigating this collision and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it, and also would ask anyone with a dash camera to check their footage to see if it shows this collision or either vehicle driving on the M40 prior to the collision.

“We are also interested in speaking with the driver of an Audi that was directly behind the collision when it occurred.
