John Lewis’ multi-million pound refurbishment is already underway, making strong progress.

They today revealed shoppers will benefit from the addition of a new beauty spa – the Beauty Retreat and an espresso bar along with revamped fashion, home and consumer electronics departments.

A key part of its growth strategy, John Lewis is committed to investing in its existing department stores to enhance customers’ shopping experience. The investment in Milton Keynes will give the entire shop a facelift through the introduction of the latest retail concepts and the shop layout will be reconfigured to increase the selling floor by around 20,000 sq ft.

The Beauty Retreat, will be located on the first floor and will offer treatments such as facials, manicures, pedicures, eyebrow/eyelash tinting and threading from a host of premium brands: Clarins, Elemis, Decleor, Blink and Jessica.

Paul Hunt, managing director or John Lewis Milton Keynes said: “With work now underway we’re excited about seeing the improvements take shape and hope customers will love our new look as it starts to be revealed.

“We believe the Beauty Retreat will not only inspire and delight shoppers but add to their shopping experience. The Retreat is still a relatively new concept for John Lewis but its been really well received by customers and it will be a fabulous addition to the services customers will be able to access in-store at John Lewis Milton Keynes.”

The haberdashery and womenswear departments will be the first departments to showcase a new look. Changes to womenswear will include a denim wall, contemporary fixtures for jewellery and accessories, as well as host of top new brands and a luxury fashion advice suite.

The refurbishment will be complete in October and will be carefully phased to enable the department store to remain open throughout the process, with minimal disruption to customers.
