Murder investigation update: '˜How could anyone hurt pregnant Ella?'

The body of the woman, who has been named locally as Ella Parker, was discovered at her Newport Road home at 2.40pm on Thursday.

Ella, 29, was five months pregnant.

Police revealed on Sunday they had arrested a man on suspicion of murder, and have informed Ella’s next of kin, who are being supported by specialist trained police officers.

A post-mortem examination and a formal identification are yet to take place.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Stuart Blaik said: “Detectives from our Major Crime Unit are working with colleagues from Force CID to investigate the circumstances of how a woman has died and I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has any information which could assist the investigation.

He added: “People in the community are likely to notice an increased presence of officers in the area and I would ask anyone who has any concerns or information should approach and speak to an officer.”

Meanwhile tributes are pouring in one social media for the tragic mother-to-be, and friends are laying flowers outside the house.

One friend posted on Facebook: “RIP to the most bubbly outgoing young lady ever.

“Such a sad atmosphere around the streets of New Bradwell... You will be missed by many.”

Another wrote: “How could anyone hurt her she was a lovely lady always so happy and friendly and would help anyone. RIP Ella and your beautiful baby.”

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “At around 2.40pm on Thursday officers were called to a report that a woman had died at a property in Newport Road.

“Officers attended and discovered the body of a 29-year-old woman inside a property. The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.”

A 24-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder was bailed on Sunday until 4 January 2018, pending further enquiries.
