A hairdresser found murdered in an apartment in Milton Keynes last night has been named as Ashley Gillard.
His body was found in a fourth-floor flat in Trevithick Court, Wolverton, which had gone up in flames at around 11.40pm last night.
The exact circumstances of his death are still unknown, but police believe the victim, who is believed to be 31, knew his killer.
Mr Gillard’s loved ones have been paying tribute to him as news of his death spread.
His friend, Emma Tearle said: “Nothing can express the pain I feel right now.
“You were more than my friend you were my brother and for 14 years we have been pretty much inseparable.
“We have had our ups and downs, but we always knew that the other is there when we needed them.
“From the moment I met you, you had a place in my heart, a place that will always remain.
“We have been through so much together and I will always be so proud to call you my best friend.
“I want you to know ash that from the bottom of my heart I love you you so much and I always will.
“The memories and moments that we shared I will take with me for the rest of my life.
“You have a nice sleep, and I will see you on the other side.
“I love you always.”
Mr Gillard was a freelance hairdresser, who for the past six months worked at HairCo2 in Wolverton.
Friend Danielle Katrina Russellsaid: “I am completely shocked and so sad. RIP Ashley, you were a lovely genuine person and will be miss by many. Sweet dreams angel.”
Rachel Louise Cook said: “RIP Ashley Gillard such a great shame to lose someone so young.
“Thoughts and prayers to all your family.”
Police are currently patrolling the area and carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
