TWO Milton Keynes gymnasts recently performed on the biggest stage of their young lives – and returned home with bronze medals.
Gypsy Squires, 8, and Ellie Botterill, 9, were representing the South at the 2012 National Championships in Birmingham.
In fact the duo made up half of their region’s team – selected from the best young gymnasts from across the South – and impressed enough on bars, beam, vault, floor and range and conditioning to help the team finish in third place.
Out of 65 of the country’s brightest young stars, Gypsy was 35th and Ellie finished 12th.
Gypsy’s mum Louise said: “I’m so proud. It was a hard competition and I’m so happy she came away with her first national medal after working so hard.”
