New Asda store opens its doors in Milton Keynes

Earlier this week, Asda launched its new store at Oakridge Park in Milton Keynes.

The store launch’s ribbon cutting was officiated by Katie Elmer, founder of local charity, Emily’s Star, which provides emergency toiletries, baby care items and babywear to parents of premature babies. As a thank you for the charity’s great work, Asda presented Emily’s Star with a bumper package of babygros, bodysuits and cardigans which are especially designed for premature babies.

“We’re excited to unveil the store to local shoppers and to get to know our customers properly,” said Matthew Hayes, store manager at Asda Oakridge Park.

“It was great for Emily’s Star to help us out with our launch event and we were thrilled to gift some supplies to assist with the amazing work they do for local parents.”

Also in attendance for the store opening was Mark Lancaster MP, Councillor Alex Walker and Mayor of Milton Keynes, Steve Coventry.

The 10,000 square feet store has created 47 jobs and has received a £1.6m investment from Asda.

Asda Oakridge Park has a number of popular departments to offer Stantonbury shoppers including fresh produce, an express pizza counter, rotisserie, bakery and a selection of world foods. The store also caters for busy customers by providing a click and collect service and a food-to-go section.
