ANTI-SOCIAL yobs on four estates could be banned from them for 24 hours under new police powers.

Dispersal Orders, meaning troublemakers can be moved on and prevented from returning for a day, have been granted in Fishermead, Oldbrook, Leadenhall and Coffee Hall.

They are part of a Thames Valley Police and Milton Keynes Council crackdown on anti-social behaviour and follow complaints of ‘thoughtless and disruptive’ behaviour.

Such is the level of anti-social behaviour on the estates some bus services have had to be restricted.

Police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be able to disperse groups of two or more people from the estates if they are causing a nuisance. Officers will also be able to return home anyone under the age of 16, or take them to a place of safety, if they are found within the designated area between 9pm and 6am unsupervised by an appropriate adult and behaving in an anti-social manner.

The orders will come into place on Monday, December 20 and run until March 20, 2011.
