Milton Keynes Hospital will take over the city’s Integrated Sexual Health Service this month.
The service, based at the hospital’s Stratford Suite, was previously operated by Virgin Care.
It is designed to improve sexual health by providing services including:
• A range of services including pregnancy testing, contraception, testing and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV testing;
• Easy access to services at accessible locations across Milton Keynes;
• A dedicated outreach team for those at high risk of poor sexual health.
Muriel Scott, director of public health says: “Sexual health is an important area of public health.
“Our top priority is to continue to invest in high quality sexual health services that are confidential and easy to access for Milton Keynes residents.”
Hospital chief executive Joe Harrison said: “We are delighted that the Trust is now able to offer the full range of services for everyone who requires sexual health and contraceptive services from Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. “We are also pleased to welcome the sexual health services staff into the trust. This team have been working hard with us to make sure we provide an excellent service from day one.”
