New railway timetable starts on Sunday

A new rail timetable will be introduced on the London Midland route on Sunday (December 14).

The route, which includes the Birmingham-London Euston line which stops at both Milton Keynes, Bletchley and Leighton Buzzard, will have new trains, extra seats and faster services introduced.

Rail minister Claire Perry said the new £62million-worth of investment was being put into the network.

She added: “We are absolutely committed to building a world-class rail network that provides more seats, more services and better journeys.

“I am delighted that London Midland’s passengers across the network are seeing the benefit of our investment.”

London Midland managing director, Patrick Verwer said “With more people travelling with us each year our passengers are telling us they want more services, quicker journeys and more seats. We have listened and taken the opportunity with our new trains to make as many improvements for as many passengers as we can. With £62million invested in new trains, this is the biggest change to our timetable in six years.”

Milton Keynes

*New non-stop weekday services from London Euston at 17.13, 17.46, 18.13 and 18.49;

*New non-stop Saturday morning services to London Euston at 8.05 and 9.25;

*43,000 additional seats into/from London Euston each week;

*15,218 additional seats into/from London Euston each weekend.

Leighton Buzzard

* Faster evening trains from London Euston at 17.13, 18.16, 17.49 and 18.52;

*23,000 additional seats into/from London Euston each week;

*10,780 additional seats into/from London Euston each weekend.
