New Register office is opened in Milton Keynes

The new venue boasts a range of modern facilities and far greater accessibility, including a new 80-seat ceremony room named the Flowers Suite after influential Bletchley Park engineer, Tommy Flowers.

Access to the new Register Office is through a brand new, dedicated main entrance to the rear of Civic offices, and a private garden has also been landscaped, which provides the perfect backdrop for photographs of a couple’s wedding celebrations.

The Civic Register Office and ceremony suite is located entirely on the ground floor, making it easily accessible for the elderly, guests with a disability or those pushing prams and wheelchairs.

Councillor Marland, said: “It was great to be with the Registration Services team on what was an important day for the service as it opened the doors to its new home.”

Yvette Medri, Registration Services manager, said: “This is an exciting new chapter for the Registration Service.

“We’re looking forward to hosting ceremonies for up to 80 guests in the new Flowers Suite, and can’t wait to see people enjoying the new garden.

“The move also means those registering the death of a loved one, who are often elderly, can do so without tackling steep stairs.”
