Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) has appointed commercial property agents Kirkby Diamond to secure new tenants for the Old Bus Station at 401 Elder Gate and bring it back to daily use.

The building, used most recently as The Buszy, is on a gateway site prominently located opposite the train station in CMK.

It is listed and there ‘may be some limitations on what it can be used for, but the building offers significant opportunities for a variety of vibrant and sustainable uses subject to planning permission,’ says the MKDP.

A deep clean of the interior and exterior has recently been carried out and contracted specialist cleaners removed the illegal graffiti which was painted on the exterior of the building.

“The building’s status as an asset of community value means we will look particularly favourably on community based activities in some of the space, while also looking to attract other complementary uses to increase day to day activity,” said MKDP development surveyor, Peter Molloy.

“The ground floor of the property lends itself well to retail or café operations with the first floor being a ‘blank canvas’.”
