Cailean Tadden, 21, was honoured with the top prize at The Unique Arts Awards, held in London.

The competition celebrates five artistic mediums.

Cailean’s passion for photography began when he attended Treloars College in Hampshire.

Despite being unable to use his arms or legs, his talent is recorded with the use of head switches to take his photographs.

He then uses eye gaze computer technology to direct developing the pictures. The whole process is bespoke and unique to Cailean.

He entered original works on the theme My World .

“I was so surprised and excited to actually win the award out of literally hundreds of quality entries and I hope that it will inspire others,” Cailean said.

“I have so many other examples of my work that I am looking into setting up a website in the hope that I can sell some of my original photographs online and perhaps at an exhibition in the not too distant future.”

His prize for winning will certainly help him on his way – he received vouchers and goods to support further creative work.
