A MARATHON runner is looking to boost her fundraising efforts for Willen Hospice by organising a masquerade ball.

Juliette Roberts will take part in the London marathon on April 22 and, as part of her fundraising, will be hosting the ball at Jury’s Inn on Saturday, March 3.

Juliette said: “Anyone who knows me is amazed that I have volunteered myself for this mammoth task.

“I’m more Miranda than Paula Radcliffe, my last attempt ended with me in a heap in a badger sett that I hadn’t spotted during the cross country at school. This really will be the biggest challenge of my life.”

On the night of the ball guests will be treated to a drinks reception, three-course meal and live music from Ellie and Freddie and the Freeloaders.

There will also be a photographer taking pictures which will be available to buy on the night. All profits will then go directly to the Hospice.

Tickets are available for £45 each and tables of 10 will be priced at a discount of £400.

If you would like to book tickets contact Juliette at or call 07729 221406.
