A STONY Stratford optometrist is sharing an important anniversary with the Citizen this year and celebrating 30 years of business.

Lesley A Arkin set up in 1981, the same time as the first issue of this newspaper rolled off the presses.

Her business has also gone from strength to strength and made a name for itself in the world of quality eye care from its Cofferidge Close base.

Now Lesley Arkin employees is celebrating the anniversary by raising money for charity.

The company is one of the sponsors of Midnight Moo, the ladies-only moonlight walk to raise money for Willen Hospice.

Two of the Lesley A Arkin team have entered this year’s event and are asking clients to sponsor them.

Lesley herself has agreed to double the amount they raise.

She told the Citizen: “It would be interesting to find out the number of business that are 30 years or older in Milton Keynes.

“I believe that for Milton Keynes it is an achievement as many business have come and gone over the 30 years.”
