Oustanding success for Oakgrove A Level students

Oakgrove School students have achieved 'outstanding' A Level results with 50% of all entries being awarded A* - B grades.

The school says this is yet another set of landmark results adding to the Sixth Form’s seven year history.

University applications have also been successful with students studying a variety of degree courses including Chemical Engineering, Public Relations, Mathematics, French and Spanish, Aerospace Engineering, Physics and Biomedical Sciences.

Top achievers included Lawrence Waldron, who earned a place to read Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial, achieving A*s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics and an A grade in Chemistry and the Extended Project Qualification.

Hannah Samme gained two A*s in Mathematics and Further Maths, and an A grade in Chemistry. She will be going on to read Maths at Warwick.

Matt Adam gained an A* in Mathematics and two A’s in Chemistry and Biology. He will now read Mechanical Engineering at Bath.

Joe Cox secured an A* in Maths and two A’s in Further Maths and Physics. He has been gained a place at Sheffield to study Physics.

Paul Fuchter gained an A* in Mathematics and two A’s in Physics and Further Maths, and will be going to Warwick to study Mathematics and Physics.

Oakgrove also has two students who have gained places on Degree Apprenticeships this year. Jake Barter has been offered a Civil Engineering Degree apprenticeship, while Jay Pandit has gained a place with Santander with their IT Degree Apprenticeship scheme.
