PANTO ALERT: From Walford to Milton Keynes for Eastenders star Samantha Womack

Eastenders favourite Samantha Womack will lead an star cast in the role of the evil Queen Rat in this year's much loved annual Pantomime Dick Whittington, at Milton Kerynes Theatre from December 8.

Samantha is probably best known for her ongoing and current role as the feisty Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap favourite.

Her extensive list of other TV credits include Forgiven, The Last Detective, Strange, Judge John Deed, Liverpool 1, Pie In The Sky, The Grimleys, Mount Pleasant, Home Again, R Babes In The Wood, Imogen’s Face and the hugely popular Game On series.

Samantha has also appeared in numerous films including the box office hit Kingsman: The Secret Service and One Night In Istanbul, A renowned stage performer to boot, Samantha has visitied Milton Keynes Theatre before now, in the classic South Pacific.

Sam is no newcomer to the world of pantomime, but this is the first time that she has taken on the role of a baddie - and she is thrilled with the opportunity!

“I’m really looking forward to playing the dastardly villain in Dick Whittington. I love panto and being the baddie means I get the best and biggest response from the audience…all the boos of course! “ she said.

“It will also be lovely for me as I live in Bedfordshire and MK is my local theatre so I’m really looking forward to seeing you all there, young and old to join Dick on his big adventure!”

Featuring all the traditional pantomime ingredients; sensational songs, a live band, dazzling dance routines, slapstick comedy and bags of audience participation - Dick Whittington is guaranteed to be full of wonder to delight audiences of all ages.
