The city’s parks have a host of exciting events coming up during the school summer holidays, thanks to The Parks Trust.

If you like playing, walking and cycling through the parks then there is plenty on offer for you in the coming week.

This summer is dedicated to encouraging the whole family to enjoy their parks together. You can join park rangers for a lakeside walk or a guided woodland bike ride, or for some great games and fun at the Parkland Play events in different parks in Milton Keynes.

At each Parkland Play event there will be a variety of activities including, bug hunting, pond dipping, craft and making activities plus some trails, sports and games to play.

The events are free and take place from 1 to 4pm. For details of dates visit

Meanwhile the much loved Proms in the Park for all the family will be returning to Campbell Park on Friday, August 16 at 8pm.

Take a picnic and enjoy this open-air concert followed by spectacular fireworks.

Booking is essential and tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for child or £25 for the family.

You can also watch movies in the great outdoors for free.

A weekend of six films will take place during the day and into the evening on August 17 and 18.
