Action group to hold protest over continued delays in passenger services at Winslow Station
An action group is to hold a protest over the continued delays in operating passenger services at the new Winslow Station.
The East West Rail Action Group says it will hold a “peaceful protest” outside the station on Saturday November 21, which will be more than two years after the site became an operational railway.

The opening of the station for passenger services has been beset by delays, including a dispute, which led to strike action by the RMT union, over the use of driver-only operation.
In September Buckingham and Bletchley MP Callum Anderson wrote to Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander to express constituents’ frustrations over the continued delays.
Earlier this month, Ms Alexander wrote in response that “significant progress” had been made, including the “fitting out” of Winslow Station, but said she could not commit to an opening date.
The East West Rail Action Group say they anticipate a bigger turnout than a previous protest outside Bletchley Station in April, with members of community charity the Winslow Wombles expected to attend in their high-visibility vests.
The protest outside Winslow Station is taking place between 11am and 1pm on November 21, and the action group’s co-founder Diana Blamires said: “We’ve heard excuse after excuse.
“It’s now time to make our voices heard.
“We need to do whatever it takes to get this service running.”
