Grant Miller started out 100 days ago, at the beginning of lockdown, propelling himself for an hour a day during his daily exercise from his Bradwell Village home.

He initially set himself a target of raising £500 for Willen Hospice, where he is a volunteer.

Today, more than 185 miles later, Grant has smashed his target 10-fold and completed the equivalent of seven marathons all over MK.

He posted videos and daily photos on social media of his 'trundles' and soon gained a small army of followers.

He said: "Willen Hospice means a lot to me as I've had 4 friends supported by them and I know the fabulous work that they do. With the current Corona virus situation their fundraising efforts have been heavily curtailed so I want to take this opportunity to help."

Grant, who has thanked everybody who donated, said the marathons took a total 56.75 hours to complete.

Nikki Poole, community fundraiser for Willen Hospice, said, “Grant is a fantastic volunteer, who is always there to help the Fundraising team at Willen Hospice."

She added: "With our community fundraising efforts on hold until further notice, we are facing a significant loss in income this summer. Fortunately, we have amazing people like Grant who are using their time during the lockdown to continue supporting the Hospice, as our nurses and Hospice staff continue to provide the best level of care possible for our patients, in the face of the pandemic.”
