Another record rise for Covid cases in Milton Keynes today

The Covid infection rate in Milton Keynes continued to soar today.

There have been 42 new positive tests over the past 24 hours compared to 31 yesterday. This makes a total of 1,503 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Nationally there have been 18,980 fresh cases breaking out over the past 24 hours.

There have been 138 deaths over the past 24 hours and 792 people admitted to hospital.

Currently there are 4,941 Covid patients in hospital throughout the UK, with 563 of them in ventilator beds
