The rabbit was rescued by the RSPCA and has been treated for a severe mite infestation that had clogged his ears and left him unable to hear.

He was promptly put into foster care and christened Bugs.

A spokesman for Milton Keynes and North Bucks RSPCA branch said: "Bugs is a bashful bunny who really isn't keen on being touched, but he is very cute.

"He was found wandering the streets with a terrible mite infestation. He was taken to the local vets where he was treated and then he arrived in our care for rehabilitation. He's now fully recovered, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped."

The spokesman added: "Bugs needs some company and is looking for a female, neutered companion to live with. He's about two years old and will need a caring owner who understands that it will take time to gain his trust."
