The promise from the council comes as people all over MK are taking down their Christmas decorations this week,

A council spokesman said: "You can put your real Christmas tree (without decorations) into your green bin. If it's too big for the bin, either saw it into pieces or lean against the wheelie bin for collection.

Unwanted and broken Christmas decorations such as baubles should be put into the black bin bags and not recycling bags.

The council spokesman said: We take bookings up to seven days in advance, and we release new slots every day on a rolling basis. Right now it’s very busy...Please note our team won’t be able to find you a slot if we’re fully booked. We’re sorry if this means your plans are delayed."
