The Bradville Bloomers plant up tubs and troughs around the street signs and bus stops all over Bradville and neighbouring Bancroft.

They all volunteer their time for free and member Barbara Wright grows all the plants and makes up the tubs at her home.

Barbara, 56, has been out for the past couple of weeks planting them and the estates are now full of colour.

Residents are full of praise and are going out daily to water the tubs, sid Barbara's daughter Dawn.

"Mum has been overwhelmed by the support from the locals and there has been a fantastic community spirit," she said.

One resident described the planters on Facebookas "a bit of brightness in the gloom," while another said: "Love seeing these - such a brilliant idea."
