Builders, plumbers, electricians and other tradespeople in Milton Keynes invited for free instant Covid test to avoid spreading infection

Around one in three people who are infected with Covid-19 have no symptoms and could be spreading the disease without knowing it.
The council is running a special testing service at Central Milton Keynes library in a bid to identify these asymptomatic people and stop them unwittingly passing the virus on.

Hide AdSo far the service has been open to all keyworkers, including emergency services crews, as well as people who work on children, waste collectors and public transport employees.
Now it is open to tradespeople too,
The library test centre is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm and there is late night opening until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There is no need to book but people should take their ID and a smartphone. To be tested, bring your work ID and a smartphone. Results will be sent to them within around 45 minutes.
These tests are designed for asymptomatic people only. Anybody showing Covid symptoms should book a test through the NHS in the normal way.
